Stolichnaya Elit
Stolichnaya Elit is an ultra-premium vodka brand made using a patented freezing technology. Developed to capitalise on the popularity of the Stolichnaya brand, Stoli Elit is famed for its smooth taste and has quickly built up a following around the world.
Stoli Elit is a unique super-luxury product. A vodka of astonishing purity, it is designed to satisfy those who value elegance and simplicity.
Making Stoli Elit is complex process. The spirit undergoes a patented freeze filtration process. This method echoes the age-old Russian tradition of placing newly distilled spirits in wooden barrels outdoors into the icy Russian cold. This served the practical purpose of cooling down the spirit, but also significantly improved the spirit by strengthening it through the removal of water and of any impurities which would freeze to the inside of the barrel, leaving only the purest and most delectable spirit unfrozen in the centre.
The first step in Stolichnaya’s contemporary reinterpretation of the freeze filtration process is that the spirit is filtered through a special silver filter, upon which the vodka is frozen to -15 C. Subsequently the vodka is held in a special isothermal tank for at least 8 hours. During the freezing, the vodka becomes glycerine-like, the solubility of different impurities reduces and their filtration becomes easier. The vodka is then passed through a zeta-carbon-potential filter fitted with special ion-charged plates, which remove any heavy molecules. After this it is pumped into a regular holding tank to gradually regain room temperature. This passage is very long, taking several days, in order not to damage the molecular system of the spirit.
